To get my skin glowing for a long summer holiday, I recently visited Liz Earle’s flagship shop just off Chelsea’s Kings Road for the eponymous Liz Earle Signature Facial — 90 minutes of sheer bliss!
Arriving 15 minutes before my appointment, the staff was super friendly, relaxed and chatty. I was whisked away by my therapist, Milly, to a beautifully tranquil treatment room with private shower and changing area. The perfect size with plenty of space without being so large you felt lost, the room’s ambiance and décor were just right, warm ivory and crimson tones, gentle melodies, and an exquisitely comfy treatment bed with cosy covers and towels so soft.
Before I could climb onto the bed, Milly sat me down and talked me through exactly what she was going to do, answering questions and providing suggestions until we had a final plan of action, which was to relax and revive my aging and tired face. Once agreed, I quickly changed, dove beneath the covers and the treatment began.
To start, Milly offered a whiff of aromatherapy oil to inhale and enhance my relaxation experience. She followed with a deep-cleansing routine that included a gentle steam of my skin, a particularly blissful and hypnotic part of the facial. Having softened up the top layers, Milly performed a manual extraction of built up dirt in my pores. This was my least favourite part of the procedure, but well worth the smooth-feeling result. Following a soothing second cleanse, I had a high frequency magic wand whisked over my face to tighten pores and kill any bacteria still lurking. Milly then vacuumed my face to detox the skin and plump lines, a first for me!
Having completed a very comprehensive clean, my face, neck and shoulders were then deeply massaged, releasing tension I didn’t realise I was holding there!! While I melded with my covers, Milly applied a face mask to rejuvenate, rehydrate and wrap up my treatment, but not before a final scalp massage (other options include foot or shoulder massage). I thought it couldn’t get any better – but by now I was floating away! I lay there for 10 maybe 15 minutes on my cloud of blissful relaxation before Milly returned to remove the face mask and apply serum and moisturisers to put a final polish on my complexion.
Once I was dressed, Milly returned with information on the products she’d used. There was no hard sell, just some good sound advice on my daily routine. During the cleansing phase Milly used the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, the Gentle Face Exfoliator and the Instant Boost Skin Tonic. The Hot Cloth cleaning felt so good and left my face feeling refreshed. The exfoliator was rich and unlike other exfoliates, left my skin feeling silky. Surprisingly the tonic, rather than leaving my face feeling tight like others I have tried, enhanced the silky soft feeling. The amazing facemask was Liz Earle’s Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask, which rehydrated and had a plumping effect on my aged skin, erasing years in an instant! The finishing flourishes included the EyeBright Soothing Eye Lotion, the Soothing Line Serum, the Superskin Bust & Neck Treatment and the wonderful Superskin™ Moisturiser with natural neroli. The resulting feeling was one of soft, silky and well hydrated skin with no sticky or oily residue effect that I have had from facials elsewhere.
I decided I couldn’t live without the Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask and the Superskin Moisturiser, and was pleasantly surprised to find they were a very affordable price. I have since purchased further products recommended by Milly and have incorporated them into my daily routine. I’m pleased to say that they are continuing to provide the wonderful anti-aging and soft silky-effect achieved during my visit to the treatment room.
I would also recommend reading the Liz Earle Wellbeing magazine. I was given a copy at the shop – this has some great recipes and good tips on healthy eating.

Your professionalism and personality created the ultimate beauty and wellness experience for me. I have had many facials in the past, but yours is peerless. I look forward to the next one!
