Inspired by the cultures of northern Africa the spa is an oasis of well-being and an ultimate rest for body and mind. Offering innovative methods of relaxation, massage and treatments such as Rasul, aromatherapy, hydro massage, relaxing/revitalising baths as well as a genuine Turkish bath and a sauna.

Aqua – aerobics and yoga classes are available on request, while at the pool bar you can enjoy fresh fruit and vegetable juices as well as light meals for lunch.

Accommodation and Other Facilties

Asian and African influences are evident in the décor throughout the generous spaciousness of Choupana Hills. Exoticism and good taste are reflected in the choice of unique artefacts worthy of display in a museum. Combinations of objects and scents of wood from distant lands pay tribute to Portuguese discoveries. Wood and stone are the main materials used in the bungalows built on stilts, each of which houses two spacious rooms with verandas, many facing the spectacular view over Funchal and to the ocean lying far below.

A lagoon style heated pool enjoys a spectacular situation between the two main hotel buildings. In this large area the abundance of natural vegetation and gardens provide the setting for the ultimate in gentle sunbathing. At the Xopana Restaurant, the mixture of exotic influences is reflected in the cuisine, where a variety of innovative flavours are to be discovered in the fusion cuisine while also offering casual all day dining, local specialities and European favourites.
